Kamongan Stages

The four stages of the Kekkei Genkei the "Kamongan" or "Flower-Design Eye".

The stages go from left to right, starting at the top.

The first stage is what the eye always looks like. Users with the Kamongan have increased speed, strength, and stamina than normal people.

The one to its right is the second stage, the Tsubomi Kamongan or "Flower Bud Flower Design Eye". In this stage, the pupil shrinks and the Kamongan iris (the pink part) expands. Although this decreases the user’s ability to take in images, its ability makes up for it. When activated, the user is able to see through the eyes of everyone within a certain distance of him, as well as seeing into their hearts.

The next stage is on the bottom left, called the Hanbiraki Kamongan or "In Half Bloom Flower-Design Eye". In this stage, the Kamongan iris, along with the original iris, increase in surface area and in power. In this stage, the user is actually able to see things called The Threads of Life. The ‘Threads of Life’ are essentially the stings that connect every living thing in the universe together in an intricate web. They are also the threads that hold "neutral chakra", or chakra that has not been shaped into different forms of energy. Through training, the user can channel their chakra through the threads to create a physical and deadly weapon. The threads can cut through solid objects and even tie people up. The only thing is, they still can't see. The only way that can attack is by seeing through other people’s eyes or by sensing disturbances in the threads.

The forth stage is known as the Hanazakari Kamongan or "Flower in Full Bloom Flower Design Eye". The cells of the Kamongan divide to create a six part iris instead of the usual three parts. This not only increases the surface area of the iris but it also gives room for the pupil to dilate. The user retains the ability to see the Threads of Life while gaining the ability to perceive their surroundings in perfect clarity. In addition, the increase in surface area allows for better control of the Threads of Life, shaping and condensing them into armor and weapons that are "nearly" indestructible.
